Chatfield Junior Wrestling

Team History

The club now known as Chatfield Junior Wrestling existed as Dakota Ridge Youth Wrestling from 1998 through the end of the 2003-2004 season.  Prior to 1998, the team was at Chatfield High School (we just returned).  Our team actually began as a Lakewood team ~ 15 years prior to the latest move to Chatfield.  Many Colorado Youth State Champions and placers and a few National Youth Champions  and placers have trained in our program including a State Champion and State 2nd Place in 2004 and 3 State placers in 2006.  Numerous successful high school wrestlers and a few College competitors have also come through  our program.  

Our move was unfortunately politically motivated, but the end result has been very positive for our team.  The Chatfield wrestling room fits our needs well, the high school coaching staff has significant competition and coaching credentials, the HS head coach teaches at the school where he coaches, and is supportive of our beliefs about youth sports and wrestling. (see Mission/Vision page).  

It IS about the kids!!!

Chatfield Junior Wrestling remains as the team in the league with seniority.  Please be confident that we have put the FUN back into our program along with the positive and supportive attitude for which our program has been known.
